The project is employing a modular approach to its execution which includes modules which will be assembled at the Bomesc fabrication yard in Tanggu, China by an integrated team of Bechtel, Bomesc, and Chevron staff. The work will be 100% subcontracted. Applicants for this construction position shall have heavy industrial (CM) module construction experience commensurate with the type of work to be undertaken and the requirements identified below. Position will be located at the module yard in an industrial area nearby the city of Tianjin, China. This area experiences periods of poor air quality. Unless otherwise indicated, applicants for construction positions should have heavy industrial (Direct Hire or Construction Management) construction experience commensurate with the type of work to be undertaken and the requirements identified below. 1. Responsible for field piping operations on OSBL module fabrication yard. 2. Determines workforce requirements. Coordinates operational plans. Schedules work to be performed and reviews work accomplished by each craft. Monitors work activities and ensures the quality of work performed. 3. Ensures the most current design document is used to complete the work and that all design changes are approved prior to implementation. 4. Monitors the activities of subcontractors to ensure compliance with specifications and schedules. 5. Responsible for the implementation of corporate/project policies, procedures and instructions within assigned operations. 6. Coordinates activities with other disciplines or areas and clients’ resident representatives, as instructed by construction management. 7. Ensures that Bechtel and local/national safety codes, requirements and standards are being complied with within assigned area of responsibility. 8. Ensures the Zero Accident Philosophy is incorporated into every aspect of construction operations. Actively participates in scheduled safety meetings. 9. Support the creation of work environment that fosters trust, communication, teamwork and satisfaction. 10. Participate in People Based Quality Program Job Knowledge 1. Thorough knowledge of construction and safety activities as they relate to LNG module construction, cost and scheduling, and contract administration. 2. Computer literate in MS Office suite, including word processing, spreadsheet and database applications. 3. Knowledge of the use of subcontracts; knowledge of the contractor/ subcontractor’s responsibilities contained in subcontract documents. 4. Fluent in written and spoken English and Mandarin. Must be willing and able to communicate and work thru interpreters and with individuals with limited or no Chinese speaking skills. Work includes field inspections and the physical ability to conduct field inspections which require the following activities: extensive walking in and around a construction site, climbing ladders, climbing scaffolding, working on elevated platforms, working on uneven surfaces and working in small or confined spaces. Some lifting may be required. Must have the ability to walk into and out of the project (enter/egress). Must be able to use appropriate standard issued Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) required for each assigned task (i.e. harness, life vest, lift buckets, etc.)
