Our initial focus is4>Is technically strong · Has broad experience in the exploration and production business · Works effectively as a member of a team · Is versatile and adaptable · Willingly undertakes technical challenges We are looking for an effective team player with strong analytical abilities This role’s key focus areas are · Manage multi-disciplinary tasks delivering feasibility studies, including static and dynamic modelling · Deliver conceptional development plans and economic scenarios for pre-drill prospects, pre-developed assets and deliver economic scenarios for mature assets · General reservoir management · Black oil reservoir simulation – preferably using Eclipse and related software · Nodal Analysis – preferably using PETEX software · Pressure transient analysis – preferably using Kappa software · Waterflood design and performance analysis · Analysis of tight gas well and field performance. Accountabilities · Accountable for the managing the heavy Oil & Gas Commercialisation & Volume Maturation team’s work programme, ensuring delivery against agreed deadlines · Accountable for defining data gathering needs with Oil/Heavy Oil, Tight Gas Wells · Guide and develop innovative petroleum engineering technology needed in heavy oil and tight/unconventional gas activities · Stay abreast of technical developments within the company, their contractors, and the wider industry in areas related to oil/heavy oil and tight/unconventional gas exploration and development Experience and Qualifications required · University degree in Petroleum Engineering (Reservoir Engineering). Candidates will ideally have a minimum of 15 years, preferably with at least 5 years experience on appraisal and development of heavy oil resources in North Eastern China, and also with experience of the development of tight gas resources · Effective team player with demonstrated ability to successfully communicate with well engineering, gas development asset teams, contractors · Broad PE professional with capability to work as an integrator across the disciplines and think beyond own discipline · Technically strong petroleum engineer, with good all-round knowledge of other PE disciplines · Experience in RE data acquisition and analysis (well test design and analysis, fluid sampling and analysis) and production forecasting based on limited data with large uncertainties. · Passion for technologies and process optimisations that can reduce drilling, completion and reservoir stimulation CAPEX · Ability to produce plans that manage the large range of uncertainties required to mature these types of discoveries; experience in business / development planning of this resource type is an advantage · Recognised ability in successfully coaching and mentoring less-experienced staff · Experience in a multi-disciplinary sub surface technical team. · Petrel static reservoir models and · Eclipse dynamic reservoir models. · Exposure to log analysis and petrophysics.
