Designing custom opto-mechanical/mechanical components, subsystems, and systems.2. Performing hands-on technical work in a laboratory environment involving metrology, optical alignment, testing, and data collection.3. New design and reviewing and updating design work done by others (including ECOs) to ensure high standards and review for DFA and DFM. 4. Reviewing/managing externally resource projects for standards and DFA/DFMRequirements1. B.S. Engineering (Masters or advance degree preferred). 2. Expert Solid Works.3. Familiarity with full EC and design documentation processes. 4. Strong understanding of tolerance and tolerance stack up requirements, and how those influence the cost of the final assembly. 5. Strong design and DFM/DFA knowledge.6. Familiar with designing precision mechanical or optical assemblies and fixtures.7. Experience with alternative material and material processing preferred. 8. Strong project management experience to assist with the documentation/presentation requirements of the PLC process. 9. Excellent verbal and written English skills to be an effective interface to the customers and vendors are required.10. Ability to work both independently and in a group setting. Additional desired skills: Experience in any of the following would add weight to a candidates consideration: 1. Experience in an ISO9001 environment highly desirable. 2. Solid Works and PDM Works (or PDM Works/Enterprise)3. Experience in use of optical CAD files (Zemax) and file exchange formalism between Solid Works and Zemax.4. Proactive and results oriented with ability to work in fast paced environment. 5. Experience on plastic injection molding is strongly preferred.
